I am sure that many of you have been wondering what happened to APPX release 4.3.  APPX 4.3 has taken us way longer to complete than we ever imagined that it would.  In hindsight, we should have broken it up into several smaller releases.  Smaller releases are easier to manage and allow us to enhance the product on a more frequent incremental basis.  We actually did break it up somewhat.  APPX 4.2.a was a bug fix release in which we released a large number of bug fixes that were originally targeted for APPX 4.3.  So, in actuality, part of APPX 4.3 has already been released.  We also decided to delay several new features that were originally targeted for APPX 4.3 until the APPX 4.4 release.  Unfortunately, we didn’t delay enough of the planned features.  As a result, the development time-line for APPX 4.3 has been much longer than we like for a release.  However, I am happy to announce that development is 99% complete and alpha testing is now in progress.  Each feature is initially tested by the developer at the time that it is programmed.  Alpha testing is when our APPX application developers get a chance to test and document the new features.  As soon as alpha testing is complete, we will announce a beta test period and will invite a select few customers and resellers to help us with the final testing of the release.  I don’t know exactly when we will publish the official release.  That will depend on the results of the testing.  There has been some pressure from a few customers and a few VARs to publish the release sooner rather than later.  Rest assured that we will publish this release as soon as it is ready.  I don’t think that anyone really wants us to release a product that has not been thoroughly tested.  All available resources are focused on this release.  We have even been utilizing contract resources in our efforts to accelerate the development process.  Finally, I would like to say that the release is looking good and I think that you will be very pleased with the new features implemented in this release.
