It has been one month since we released APPX 5.0.0 on December 14th. We have since released the first patch release, 5.0.1. There are still two limitations on which we are working diligently.
The APPX/ODBC interface which allows programs such as Crystal Reports® and Excel® to access your APPX data is not yet released. So, if your system depends on this interface, you should not yet deploy APPX 5.0.1 in your production environment.
We are also having a problem with our Oracle interface in APPX for HPUX on the PA Risc platform. So, if you use Oracle with APPX on this platform, you should not yet deploy APPX 5.0.1.
We are actively working on both of these limitations and expect to have them resolved by the end of January.
Steve
